CARPAGE Post Rock that has the slightest hint of Porcupine Tree as an influence. Stellar!!!!! Favorite track: Bird Watcher.

Andrej Romić Another great post/experimental rock group i have stumbled upon just because of that great artwork. So great. There's just something in whales that boosts up your curiosity...lol. Favorite track: Chasing Ghosts.

Chris T A beautiful album from start to finish that surpasses previous efforts. The return to some interspersed vocal elements really lifts these tracks, but won't upset post-rock fans that are opposed to vocals. They add great texture here. Definitely one for repeat listens, preferably in its entirety. Favorite track: Seashells.

about

Three years since the release of their last album, "zero-one", Christchurch atmospheric-rock trio Troika are back with a new release titled "My brain is a receiver".

Sonically following on in a similar fashion to the largely instrumental "zero-one", the band has nonetheless reintroduced more of a focus on vocal-led melodies, with all three members contributing. The songwriting again journeys between quiet, melodic mood-pieces to longer, dynamic passages that build to a crashing 'wall of sound' crescendo.
